Ingraham's alumni network spans across the globe, with graduates working as doctors, engineers, business leaders, academics, and professionals in various fields. The school takes pride in the accomplishments of its former students who continue to uphold the values and principles instilled during their school years.
Many alumni have returned to the school to contribute to its development, whether as mentors, advisors, or active members of the alumni association, creating a strong bond between generations of Ingraham students.
A pivotal moment arrived in 1965 when Mr. R.K. Michael, the first Indian Director, took over the reins of the Ingraham Institute. He significantly expanded the Institute's educational scope by introducing the Ingraham Institute English School, affiliated with the ICSE.
Mrs. Joyce Malviya, the Head Mistress, an inspiring educator and a woman of remarkable grace and determination, started the school on Hapur road Ghaziabad. In her own words, the school began in January 1966 in two rooms with a total of 13 students—six in Nursery, four in KG, and three in Class I.
"In January 1966 we started the school with six students in the Nursery class, four in the KG class and three in Standard I (one)."
Mrs. Malviya, the daughter of the late Rev. H. R. Wilson, imbibed values of service and discipline, qualities that became the hallmark of her career. She introduced the iconic school uniform, a symbol of unity and pride that continues to define the institution's identity.
Her dedication earned her the prestigious National Award for Teachers in 1988, received at the Rashtrapati Bhawan from the then President of India, Shri Ramaswamy Venkataramaman. This honor stands as a testament to her remarkable contributions to education and her enduring commitment to shaping young minds with integrity, discipline, and excellence.
Mrs. Malviya's legacy continues to inspire generations of educators and students at Ingraham, reminding us that true education transcends classroom walls and shapes the very character of individuals and society.
