Ingraham English School believes that a well-disciplined environment is essential for effective learning and personality development. These rules and regulations are designed to foster self-discipline, responsibility, and mutual respect among all members of the school community. We encourage every student to adhere to these guidelines and contribute to maintaining the school's dignity and reputation.

Uniform & Appearance

  • School Uniform: Wearing the prescribed school uniform and house uniform is compulsory for all students.
  • Uniform Condition: Parents should ensure that uniforms are clean, well-washed, and neatly ironed.
  • School Diary: Every student must carry the school diary daily.
  • Kada (Bangle): Wearing heavy Kada is not permitted in school. A lightweight Kada may be allowed with permission of the class teacher, provided it does not pose a risk to anyone.
  • Grooming Standards: Hair must be clean and neatly combed. Boys must have short hair; girls with long hair must keep it tied with school ribbons/ties.
  • No Jewelry/Makeup: Students should not wear ornaments or excessive accessories. Simple name badges are acceptable. No nail polish or makeup is permitted.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Punctuality on All Occasions: Punctuality is mandatory. Students must reach school five minutes before the scheduled time.
  • Minimum Attendance: During an academic session, 75% attendance is compulsory.
  • Absence Policy: Students remaining absent for more than 15 days without prior permission will be struck off the attendance register. Re-admission, if granted, will require payment of admission fee.
  • Reporting Absence: Parents must inform the school on the same day about any absence through a written note or email.
  • Medical Certificate: For continuous absence of 3 or more days, a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner must be provided.

Academic Conduct

  • Cheating is Expulsion Offense: Any student found cheating during Unit Tests, Half-Yearly Exams, Final Exams, Pre-Board, or Board Exams will be removed from the school.
  • Assignment Submission: All assignments must be submitted on time. Late submissions may attract penalties.
  • Honesty & Integrity: Plagiarism and academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited and will result in serious consequences.
  • Exam Conduct: Students must maintain absolute silence during examinations. No talking, copying, or use of unauthorized materials.
  • Homework: Students must complete all homework assignments daily and maintain proper notebooks.
  • Library Rules: Students must maintain silence and follow all library regulations while using the library facility.

Behavior & Discipline

  • Language & Conduct: As the school imparts education to both boys and girls, students are expected to maintain a high standard of discipline and decorum according to societal norms. Use of vulgar or abusive language will invite strict disciplinary action.
  • Noise & Decorum: Students should refrain from speaking loudly, shouting, whistling, or yelling on the school premises. Silence must be observed in verandas, corridors, and the library.
  • Running & Playing: Running, playing, or shouting inside the school building is not permitted.
  • English Language Requirement: All students must speak in English while on the school campus.
  • Holi Celebrations: Students found sprinkling colours on fellow students, walls, or furniture will be punished, and a fine will be imposed accordingly.
  • Crackers: Any student found bursting crackers will be removed from the school.
  • Collection of Money: Collection of money for any purpose is strictly prohibited.
  • Mobile Phones & Gadgets: Carrying mobile phones, CDs, e-games, and pen drives is not permitted in school.
  • Sharp Instruments: Any student found carrying sharp-edged instruments, knives, or firearms will be punished with suspension or termination.
  • Code of Conduct Violations: Any student found violating the laid-down rules and the code of conduct will be liable to punishment, suspension, or termination from the school.

⚠️ Zero Tolerance Policy

Serious misconduct, including violence, substance abuse, theft, or disrespect to authority, may result in immediate suspension or expulsion from the school.

Campus Safety & Security

  • ID Cards: Students must carry their ID cards at all times and display them at entry gates.
  • School Property: Students must not damage any furniture or fixtures within the school campus. Any student found damaging school property will be fined accordingly.
  • Vandalism: Any student found vandalizing school property will be fined depending on the extent of damage caused.
  • Valuable Items: The school will not be responsible for the loss of any valuable items such as ornaments, watches, mobile phones, pens, or calculators.
  • Girl Students: A girl student will be sent home only with her parent or guardian.
  • Strangers: Strangers are not allowed to meet students.
  • Polybags: Polybags are strictly prohibited on the school premises.

Parental Conduct & Leave Application

  • Classroom Access: Parents and guardians are not permitted to enter classrooms to meet their children or seek unscheduled interviews with teachers during school hours.
  • Misbehavior Consequences: Misbehavior by parents or guardians with any member of the school staff may result in the expulsion of the student from the school.
  • Leave Application Process: To avail leave, students must submit a written application addressed to the Principal, duly signed by a parent/guardian. In case of medical leave, a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner must be attached.

Daily Routine & Food Policy

  • Daily Requirements: Students must bring their daily requirements and tiffin from home. No food items will be accepted at the reception or school gate.

Cleanliness & Campus Maintenance

  • Cleanliness: Keep the campus clean. Littering is prohibited. Help maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Property Care: Students must not damage any furniture or fixtures. Any student found damaging school property will be fined accordingly.
  • Vandalism Penalty: Any student found vandalizing school property will be fined depending on the extent of damage caused.

Prohibited Items & Substances

  • No Smoking/Drinking: Smoking, drinking, and use of any intoxicating substances are strictly prohibited.
  • Sharp Instruments: Any student found carrying sharp-edged instruments, knives, or firearms will be punished with suspension or termination.
  • Mobile Devices: Carrying mobile phones, CDs, e-games, and pen drives is not permitted in school.
  • Polybags: Polybags are strictly prohibited on the school premises.

Zero Tolerance Offenses

  • Cheating in Exams: Any student found cheating during Unit Tests, Half-Yearly Exams, Final Exams, Pre-Board, or Board Exams will be removed from the school.
  • Crackers/Explosives: Any student found bursting crackers will be removed from the school.
  • Ragging: Any form of ragging or harassment is completely prohibited and will lead to expulsion.
  • Serious Offenses: Violence, substance abuse, theft, or disrespect to authority may result in immediate suspension or expulsion from the school.

Disciplinary Action

  • First Offense: Verbal warning or written note to parents.
  • Second Offense: Meeting with parents and guardians; possible detention.
  • Third Offense: Suspension or removal from school activities.
  • Serious Offenses: Major violations may result in immediate suspension or expulsion.
  • Appeal Process: Students and parents have the right to appeal disciplinary decisions to the Principal.
